Grant Writing Services for your Community
In today's economic climate, attracting companies that offer high-wage, quality regional employment requires that communities provide the amenities employers and employees seek. Communities, non-profit organizations, or agencies must look beyond the ordinary sources for funding their housing, planning, transportation, urban design, economic development, landscape architecture and place-making needs. Nontraditional funding sources are available, but researching these sources and working though the application process is a burdensome task for organizations whose resources are already stretched too thin.

Working in collaboration with you, The Planning Center's team of grant writing specialists can assist with fund and resource identification, grant writing, grant management services, and project implementation. Our program is unique. We work diligently with our clients to identify all applicable funding strategies and grant writing possibilities at no cost. When we obtain a grant for your project, we are then hired and funded through the grant to implement the project. This offers no risk to the client and provides an imaginative solution to your organization's current funding problems.
Looking Back . . .
Space Biosphere Ventures Special Plan
The Planning Center prepared the Space Biosphere Ventures Special Plan for this world class eco-destination for visitors, educators and the scientific community. This plan was designed to guide the development of an integrated environmentally sensitive master planned community on 3,600 acres of land with a focus on the Biosphere II complex, a miniature model of the Earth's biosphere, created by enclosing seven ecosystems within a three-acre airtight structure.

EDA Grant for the UA Bioscience Park
Sendero Pass
Location of the Arizona Bioscience Park in Tucson, Arizona.
The State of Arizona is concentrating investment and efforts in building its research infrastructure and supporting development for the emerging bioscience industry. Arizona's strategy focuses on producing an educated workforce prepared to meet the needs of today's bioscience firms while strengthening the state's bioscience research base in the areas of neurological sciences, cancer therapeutics, bioengineering, and bioimaging.

The Arizona Bioscience Park (Bioscience Park) will help further the state's goal of investment in research infrastructure. It includes high-tech science research laboratories and office space that allows companies to not only do work in a research or laboratory setting but also in a commercial production setting. The hospitality, hotel and conferencing center at the Bioscience Park will be an ideal location for bioscience firms to interact with scholars, collaborators, vendors, suppliers and investors while providing guests with lodging facilities during their visits.

Instrumental to the success of the Bioscience Park project was the preparation of the Economic Development Administration (EDA) grant application to secure $4 million dollars for site infrastructure. The Planning Center assisted the University of Arizona Office of Research Parks in the preparation of the EDA grant by providing socio-economic and demographic analysis and a GIS map series.
